End OF An Era - Jenna Jameson |
| Every once in a decade or so, there rises a star - A star who blows away all the competition and becomes a brand. Such was the rise of Jenna Jameson. Today she's no longer just a pornstar, but a celebrity in her own right, a brand, a name which sells everything from T-shirts to DVD's to events. And as with all such stars, the time comes when they must step back and let others take the limelight. Standing on the cusp of such a time today is my favourite pornstar - Jenna Jameson.
It's been widely reported in the news that Playboy has acquired Club Jenna : "Playboy said Thursday that it had paid an undisclosed amount of cash for the hard-core film production company founded by Jameson, one of the world's most celebrated sex stars."
Was this a business decision, solely done with regard to logistical and financial considerations in mind? I don't think so.
See, Jill Kelly did the same, walking out of Jill Kelly Productions, and so did a lot of other pornstars with their own production companies. Point being that jenna may no longer feel able to carry the compnay solely on the basis of her own body and star power. So she's breaking away and most likely, we'll be seeing a lot less of her from now on. Of course, we have all the archives and films she's already made, but then so has Elvis. Again, point being, that this is the end of the road, or the beinning of the ned, for Jenna Jameson the pornstar. Maybe someone like Raven Riley might take her place. Let's see. But there will always be only one Jenna Jameson.
