| Of late, there have been rumblings, like pre-earthquake tremors, about the misuse of Myspace by 'unscrupulous' operators. Not to mention the fairly graphic stuff, and the cybersex chats that ensue from contacts on MySpace, specially when it comes to minors. But that's not what this is about. It's about how these girls are then ending up with solo girl sites, some nude, some non-nude. How do these girls go, from MySpace to becoming pornstars? Let's take a look.
I generally keep track of new sites which are being launched. Obviously, a lot of the new ones are solo girl sites, mostly all 18-19 years old. With the huge craze for solo sites, naturally there's a race to find the next 'hottest teen on the net'. Where does this lead promoters? Apparently to MySpace.
Of late, whenever i find out about a new solo site being launched, the name, or nickname or porn name, or domain ( call it what you want ), has been turning up in google results in the form of a myspace entry, even before the site is officialy launched. I attributed it to the immense poularity and huge number of users in MySpace, and a co-incidence that a sexy sounding name is already there in MySpace. Couple of days back, while googling a new solo site, for some reason, I clicked on the MySpace profile in the google results. No prizes for guessing - Same girl. Well, next up I backtracked and checked out the MySpace profiles of all the girls with new paysites, who had a MySpace profile matching the site name. Most of them match. And the profiles are older than the sites.
What's going on here is that porn merchants are searching MySpace pages for prospective pornstars and setting up hooks to snare them. Most of the girls are from Florida, Texas and California. Go figure.
Far be it from me to preach morality on an adult porn site, but I reckon there is a fine line between what's right and what's not. Putting an ad in Craigslist or the local paper that you're looking for pornstars and will pay good is one thing, and contacting girls off MySpace is totally another. You decide waht's right and what's wrong. But when this breaks, and there's no doubt it will, in one of the major news outlets, there's going to be one hell of a blowback, and it won't be pretty.
