Ask any adult webmaster and he'll tell you that the best way to start off in the adult industry is by setting up a TGP or Thumbnail Gallery Post. I have detailed below the knowledge I scraped up while setting up my own TGP.
TGP Scripts
While there are a number of TGP
Scripts available, both free and commercial, the best of the
ones I tried was Comus Thumbs. It has a free download version,
which you can get here.
If you want to check out all the scripts, here's a
full list of TGP
scripts.
While going through all the options available, I chanced upon a bit of PHP code for showing random images and links from a mysql database. After tinkering with it for a couple of days, I was able to come up with a decent TGP Script and that's what i'm using right now. The reason I opted for my own script is that it gives me a lot of room for trial and to see what options work better than the others. I would not recommend this, however, to people who have no technical background.
CONTENT
What you need to fill up a TGP is a ton of links and thumbs from galleries.
There are two ways to go about it. First, sign up with every adult paysite on the face of this earth which has affiliate programs and hosted galleries. Second, develop a system for accepting gallery submissions from other webmasters. Each has it's pros and cons. Sponsor hosted galleries are safe, meaning there will be no cheating, stealing pimp diverting your traffic to a dialer. On the other hand, the same sponsor galleries are displayed by a thousand other webmasters, so there's not much scope for calling it exclusive content. Webmaster submitted galleries are easier, since the submissions include desciptions, URLS and thumblinks. However, in my mind, that is not enough to balance the negative aspects of accepting submissions. Ideal way would be to put up FHG's and bring in traffic from the search engines. But, easier said than done.
A combination of both is probably the best
bet. Either way, you need to check every gallery manually,
create resized thumbs, check descriptions and upload them
to the proper niche. Speaking of niches, I decided early on
that I wanted to make it a full website, not restricted to
a niche. I found very quickly that's it's not feasible to
make a general TGP. You need to focus on a niche. Stubborn
mule that I am, I broke it up into 26 different niche pages,
and set about the whole thing like 26 different TGP's, albeit
with the same template. And, speaking of templates, you better
get some high quality gallery templates ready before you begin,
otherwise you'll end up revising your design when you should
be inspecting galleries. You can either design your own template,
like your's truly or you can buy them from someone in this
list - Graphic
Designers.
TGP TRAFFIC
Mainly four ways to drive traffic to a new TGP - Gallery
submission, trade traffic, search engine traffic and buying
adult traffic.
Use TGP submitters to submit your galleries
to other TGP's. Check out the TGP
Submitters directory listing for more details. Use traffic
scripts to trade traffic with other adult websites. Optimize
your gallery templates for maximum searche engine exposure.
This is one of several reasons for keeping niche specific
pages seperate. Finally, you can buy niche category traffic
from someone like Sex.com
or Choker
( ChickenTraffic ).
Any way you take it, once you start building
a TGP, rest assured that it's a full time job to keep it updated.
You can build as many as you want for the same effort, but
yoy can't stop building em. So tell the wife and kids bye-bye
before you begin.
